waffles!!!

Okay, so I finally got a REAL waffle maker yesterday!! It's the Bella Kitchen Belgian waffle maker, and I gotta say, after it's first use this morning, i'm liking it alot!! I used their included recipe for basic buttermilk waffles. After lifting the lid, the were golden, puffy and came out intact(which had been a problem for me in the past) I made some chocolate chip ones for the boys which went over very well with them...hello chocolate!!?? Anyways..I was so inspired by my new beautiful waffles, that I also made a brown sugar butter and mashed banana syrup. DIVINE!!! i plan on going into a sugar coma momentarily!! So i'm extremely happy about that Bella...maybe i'll name my spatula Edward;)

black fondant!!!

Okay, so I was asked to make a baby shower cake..with black fondant!!! WHAT?? I asked around to my cake peeps and was told good luck...well, let's just say that tonite, i did a practice recipe, and it turned out. It tastes pretty good too, which is a bonus. Of course I need to give credit where credit is due. It's the True black mmf recipe from Cake Central.
So now back to watching Bachelor...who will Jake send home? Is Ali really coming back????? I think Vienna, and i'm sorry to say Tenley aren't gonna make it...why do people go on this show??? How can you find true love when he keeps saying he's in love with all 3...I for one am not secure enough to be in that kind of competition!!
good luck ladies

So having a 1 year old and 3 year old, my definition of a successful dinner has changed. While wiping the table off I noticed that there wasn't alot on there, and even more to my suprise the chairs were still clean!!! And the floor, only the same stuff that was there from breakfast and lunch. Woohoo, VICTORY!!!! (only the 3rd time I have made this same meal, and the 2 previous times, neither would hardly touch it) V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!!! You know it's the little things....

Tonite when I asked my son, "do you like the dinner I made?" He said "it's tasty!" Oh how my kid can melt my heart...especially when all I made was bean enchiladas!!

So, yesterday I competed i my very first half-marathon..yes that's right, 13.1 miles. No, i'm not on drugs. The first 6 miles I felt great, awesome, it had taken me 1hr 10 mins...I kept saying to myself, "I CAN do this, what was I so worried about?" Yeah, and then, and then...it all started going downhill or uphill, shoot there were alot of freaking hills..by mile 10 I was ready to stop..all I kept thinking was "what was I thinking????? Why did I do this to myself..that old lady is beating me" Of course it didn't help the fact that I had to pee, and when i say that, I REALLY had to PEE!!! I would run, and of course that shakes everything lose, so i would walk, and think i'll never get to a bathroom if i walk....cough, whoops i think i peed a little, run..anyways, so mile 10, i think i might be dying, it's possible, my head is throbbing, my right calf is seizing up and my left calf is twitching, of course my motivation was to get to a bathroom. Note to self, races weren't designed for women, their aren't port-a-potties, or rest stations.

So, somewhere in between mile 10 and 11 here comes TR , my little bro, who passed me at about mile 7 on his way to the finish line, with a water bottle, which yeah, i drank and then contemplated trying to pee in and then immediately wished i was a guy...they have it so easy they don't even know...he tells me to duck behind a bush..which believe me i have thought about..going behind a building , squatting behind a car..just go man..oh that's really warm..yuck!! So, i convince us both that i can make it the next3, well 2 1-2 miles, no problem, even if i walk i can do it in 30 mins...so i tell him i'll see him at the finish, but if i'm not there in 30 come find me... and bring the car!! Mile 12 I see Alan, my husband, and Tr waiting for me , and they both went with me til the finish, which i beat my goal of 3 hours i did it in 2:56. Not too bad for only my 4th race..the first a 5k took 34 mins??. The 2nd a 5k where i pushed my boys in a double jogger(horrible, terrible, my hands hurt for days holding that bar!!!!! ) Took me under an hour, which i was extremely disappointed in. The 3rd a 10k, The Peachtree Road Race, i did in 1hr 19 mins...so at least i am improving!!!
